After high school, Lars was drafted into the military, where he did his basic military service for nine months in the Kongelige Livgarde (Royal Guards) an infantry regiment belonging to the Danish army. He was not convinced that the military service was right for him and he started to look for something else and eventually decided to go into biology. Anette, who had been working for the military for over a year, came home from a class for jugglers to show Lars how she could perform juggling in only three days. Lars was pleased about it and wanted to do this as well. The result was that he dropped out of school and joined the juggler school. He also studied fire breathing and the art of juggling. After that, he traveled with two other friends as touring artists across Europe, where they performed on streets of cities like Paris, Munich, Moscow and Warsaw. He came across a children's circus after a few years and began to learn street and children's theatre as and pantomime.
